For the 5th year in a row, the CMN trusts Amaclio Productions with the creation and production of the night show. The Centre des monuments nationaux curates the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey.
Beyond the permanent maintenance required for a very visited landmark threatened by the weather, the Centre des monuments nationaux has also launched major restorations, which have cost more than 20 millions euros since 2007.
What is the Centre des monuments nationaux
Its role is to conserve, restore and maintain the monuments and collections under its responsibility by conducting operations aimed at preventing their degradation and extending their length of life, under the scientific and technical supervision of the departments of the Ministry of culture and communication.
The CMN opens to visitors and runs nearly 100 national monuments belonging to the State and distributed throughout the whole country: the abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel, the Château d'Angers and the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, the castle and ramparts of Carcassonne, the Arc de Triomphe and the Sainte-Chapelle, to name but a few. The CMN aims to make these monuments accessible to the greatest number of people, particularly those living far away from institutional culture or with disabilities, and to contribute to the artistic and cultural education policy, in particular by receiving many school audiences.
The institution promotes the participation of national monuments in the cultural life and the development of tourism with nearly 400 events a year, in consultation with the regional cultural departments, local authorities and cultural institution networks.
